The Final Trial
Perseids Prime cannot be entered. It must be reached.
When riders gather beneath the Perseids meteor shower, everyone on the start line will have travelled through the same four seasons and completed the same four core trials. Winter, spring, summer and autumn will each have asked something different of them. Only then will passage to the fifth trial have been earned.
A field earned together.
At the beginning of the Series, riders may know little about one another. By Perseids Prime, everyone standing beside them has travelled the same journey in a different way. They have ridden through the darkness of winter, made their choices at the spring equinox, carried themselves through the long days of summer and returned as the light began to leave the year.
No previous placing buys an advantage. No reputation grants entry. Everyone has completed the same four trials and earned the same passage. The result is a small field bound together by something unusually difficult to manufacture: shared experience.
The Last Landscape
~1500 kilometers will carry riders beyond the familiar edges of the Series, into a country of long horizons, deep valleys and roads that grow smaller as the landscape around them grows larger. Mountains will close around you, water will repeatedly interrupt the land, and causeways will appear to carry you out across the sea.
To see what waits above, the glow of civilisation must first be left behind. As settlements thin and the last pools of light fall away, the night sky will grow darker and the Perseids brighter. The remoteness is not simply part of the journey. It is part of the reason for being there.
The exact start line and the final course will remain hidden for now. Some landscapes are better discovered by travelling into them.
Format
WHAT HAS BEEN WILL BE AGAIN.
Each of the four seasons gives the rider something to carry forward. A way of thinking, a way of choosing, a way of moving through the road ahead. By the time the final start line is reached, there has been time to reflect, adapt and build upon everything the journey has asked of them.
Things once encountered alone will return together. Familiar patterns will emerge, change shape and vanish again. There will be moments that feel known, though the road around them will not. Choices made years earlier may suddenly make sense in ways they did not at the time.
The full shape of the Perseids Prime will remain veiled until twelve months before the start. Until then, only one thing need be understood: the four trials were never separate. They were always leading here.
A SKY OF FALLING FIRE
Each August, the Earth passes once again through the trail of debris left behind by Comet Swift–Tuttle. Many of those particles are no larger than grains of sand, meeting the atmosphere at extraordinary speed and briefly turning the night sky into one of the year's most recognisable meteor showers.
For a Series built around the movement of the Earth and the changing seasons, there is a certain inevitability to finishing here. The first four trials follow the turning of the year. The fifth takes place beneath evidence of another journey entirely: the Earth passing once more through something it has encountered before.
Prime belongs to that night. A small group of riders, a final trial and the Perseids moving overhead.

There is no public entry to the Perseids Prime. Riders reach it by completing the four core trials, each encountered at a different point in the year and each asking something different of them.
